Duties / Responsibilities: The Data Analyst will provide support and assistance in:
Review the processing and input of programmatic and management information into one or more business information systems database to support or facilitate GSA business activities.
Conduct research and data analysis and execute data analytic reports.
Develop methods to assist with improvement of data collection, to identify problems, and to provide recommendations for corrective courses of action.
Inspect, transform, and model data to highlighting useful information for the client, and providing guidance and reference materials to staff as necessary.
Utilize judgment in researching guidelines to determine the relationship between guidelines and organizational efficiency.
Provide technical advice to proactively evaluate, implement and manage the accuracy of business systems and relevant business data.
Provide technical advice for end users providing system-specific support to facilitate use of business systems and applications.
Identify significant data issues or problems and propose innovative and proactive solutions.
Identify discrepancies; propose solutions to errors and extrapolate and synthesize a variety of raw business data into useful business information and tailored reports.
Assess the effectiveness of designated business/program operations, processes, projects and/or systems, particularly in relation to data management, data integrity and accuracy for the full range of systems through information management recommendations.
Perform data collection and analysis to respond to both routine and complex requests for information and reports.
Develop quality control criteria, profile reports, and/or various system queries to perform continuous review of the database systems data, and to maintain accuracy, control and reliability of data maintained in the systems.
Implementing Government policies, initiatives related to data management, acquisition process, and associated performance measures.
Acting as technical consultant and advisor to internal and/or external customers on varied business systems.
Utilizing analytic tools Microsoft Access, Excel (including pivot tables/macros) and/or other analytic tools to extrapolate data from Systems through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), generating strategic and operational reporting, business process management, and track performance goals and business measures.
Utilizing Tableau, Java Script, and Google Suite tools (Google Data Studio, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Mail, etc.).
Understanding of data management business systems, varied software applications and qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis techniques and methodologies to perform systems and data analysis roles and to determine ways to improve systems effectiveness and efficiencies.
